Before joining Aena S.M.E., S.A. he held various executive positions in both the public and private sectors.
He started his professional career as an economic analysis consultant at Solchaga, Recio & Asociados, where he worked from September 1999 to May 2004.
In the public sector, Mr. Lucena was Director General of the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) from July 2004 to May 2010, and CEO of Ingeniería de Sistemas para la Defensa de España (ISDEFE) from May 2010 to February 2012.
He was Chairman of the European Space Agency (ESA) Council from July 2008 to June 2010.
In the private sector, he has held various roles at Banco Sabadell, from June 2016 to July 2018, including Director of Equity and Prudential Management and Director of Prudential Regulation and Public Policy.
He was also a Member of Parliament of Catalonia and the spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group from December 2012 to October 2015.
Mr. Lucena was in 2002 an associate professor in the Economics Department at Carlos III University in Madrid. He is the author of En busca de la pócima mágica. Las políticas industriales y de innovación que funcionan…y las que no, a book on industrial policy, published in 2013.
He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Aena S.M.E., S.A. on 16th July 2018.

Currently, he is Executive Vice Chairman at Aena S.M.E., S.A., Managing Director at Aena Internacional, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aeroportos do Nordeste do Brasil S.A. (ANB) and Chairman of Bloco de Onze Aeroportos do Brasil S.A. (BOAB). As Executive Vice Chairman, he manages the Airports business unit, the Commercial and Real Estate business unit, the Innovation, Sustainability and Client Experience Directorate, the IT and Digitalisation Directorate and Aena’s international subsidiaries.
He is also Executive Committee Member of ACI EUROPE (Airport Council International), Member of the Board of ACI World and Member of the Madrid Territorial Council of IESE, Alumni Association.
He has held a number of management positions since joining Aena S.M.E., S.A. in 1991: Executive Board Member since 2020, Managing Director - Airports (2017- Feb.2013) Managing Director - Aena S.M.E., S.A.(2014-2017), Managing Director- Aena Aeropuertos S.A (2011-2014) and Director of Spanish Airports (2004-2011). He was also previously Managing Director - Air Navigation Services and Director of Corporate Development.
He has been a member of the Boards of Directors of different aeronautical infrastructure companies: Centros Logísticos Aeroportuarios S.A. (CLASA), Ingeniería y Economía del Transporte S.A. (INECO), London Luton Airport Operations Limited (LLAOL), of the mexican companies, Aeropuertos Mexicanos del Pacífico SA de CV(AMP) and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico S.A.P.I. de CV (GAP), of the colombian companies, Aeropuertos del Caribe, S.A. (ACSA), Sociedad Aeroportuaria de la Costa, S.A. (SACSA) and Aerocali, S.A. He has also been President of ACI EUROPE.
Prior to joining Aena S.M.E., S.A., he worked for the Universidad Politécnica, the Spanish Civil Aviation Authorities, the Paris-based Eurocontrol Experimental Centre and Indra.
María José Cuenda Chamorro

She joined Aena S.M.E., S.A. in 1996 in the commercial and marketing department of Palma de Mallorca airport. Since then she has held the positions of head of the Commercial Division of Tenerife South airport, Director of Almeria airport, head of the Commercial Network and Commercial Services Management Division, Director of Commercial Development and Director of Commercial Services.
She has been the Commercial and Real Estate Managing Director (previously, Deregulated Business) at Aena S.M.E., S.A. since March 2019.

Director of Airport Planning and Regulatory Control of Aena S.M.E., S.A. from April 2021 to February 2023. She was Director of Planning and the Environment of Aena S.M.E., S.A. between 2019 and 2021, Director of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport between 2013 and 2019, and, previously, director of the airports of Valladolid and Ibiza.
She joined Aena S.M.E., S.A. in 2002 in the Planning Directorate, where she worked on analysis and forecasting for airport infrastructures, as well as Supply and Demand Prospecting and Analysis. She began her career in the private sector, working for engineering consultancies, on studies and projects relating to different airport infrastructures in Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany.
She was a board member of ACI World between 2016 and 2022. She is also a board member of Aena Internacional.

Since joining Aena S.M.E., S.A. in 1996, she has held different positions, including: director of infrastructures, director of infrastructure planning, director of infrastructure and investment planning and director of planning and environment. In this last period, from March 2012 to October 2019, she has stood out for her leadership in the preparation of proposals for the expansion of the different airports, through her Master Plans, as well as in the preparation and control of Aena S.M.E., S.A. investment plan. She has also promoted the company’s sustainability and climate change policy.
She has been Innovation, Sustainability and Client Experience Director since October 2019.

He has been Director of Aena’s Chairman & CEO Office, Regulation and Public Policies since 2018. From this position he supports Aena’s Chairman & CEO, maintains internal coordination at relevant issues and channels institutional relations at local, national, and European levels.
Before joining Aena S.M.E., S.A., he held different management positions in both the public and private sectors.
From 1994 to 2002, he worked at Indra where he was engineering responsible at different aeronautical maintenance projects.
In 2002 he joined Isdefe, a state-owned company which provides engineering and consultancy services to the Spanish Public Administration and the European Institutions, where he performed different roles from Project Leader to Business Area Manager and Division Director. During his last stage at Isdefe, from 2012 to 2018, he was the Director in charge of the Consulting and Strategic Processes Division, from where Isdefe provides services related to public sector strategic planning, process efficiency improvement, cost analysis, technological and RD&I policies, public procurement, acquisition programmes, logistics, strategic infrastructures and energy security.
Since 2008, he lectures on Public Contracts Technical Efficiency at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) post-graduate programs. He has also acted as external sensor for the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN).

- She holds a degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid. She has been a State Attorney since 1998.
She has been a member of different collegiate bodies and working groups in the public sector and of the Vida Silver Project Advisory Board promoted by IFEMA.
She began her professional career as a State Attorney in the Superior Courts of Justice of Catalonia and Madrid (1998-2002). Later, she joined the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) as the Assistant Director of Legal Services.
Following eight years at the AEAT, she went on to the Audiencia Nacional (National Court) for a year to manage contentious-administrative proceedings in the Telecommunications area. In 2012, she joined the Ministry of Employment, taking on a dual role as Head State Attorney in the Ministry of Employment and Coordinator of the legal assistance agreements with the Foundation for the prevention of occupational hazards and with the Economic and Social Council.
Since 2016, when she joined IFEMA, she has held different positions of responsibility in the legal area, with significant work in cultural and digital transformation projects as head of the Transformation Office and leader of the Fundación IFEMA Lab. Also of note in this professional period is the implementation of a Regulatory Compliance System.
From July 2021 to April 2022, she worked as State Attorney at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As of 3 may 2022, she is the General Secretary and Secretary of the Board at Aena S.M.E., S.A.
Ignacio Castejón Hernández

Graduate in Business Administration and Law ICADE (Comillas Pontifical University, Madrid) and Executive MBA, IESE (University of Navarra) He has extensive experience in finance and business management at national and international companies and banks. In addition, he has participated in the definition, acquisition, financing and management of airport infrastructures internationally.
Since joining Aena in October 2022, he held the position of Finance Director and subsequently, from November 2023, he acted as interim Chief Financial Officer until his appointment on 1 June 2024 as CFO.
Ignacio has spent most of his professional career at Ferrovial. From 2020 until he joined Aena, he held the positions of Director of Asset Management and Chief Financial Officer of Ferrovial Airports, and was a director at Heathrow and at Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton airports, among others. Previously, he was CEO of Great Hall Partners in the United States (2017-2020) and Project Director in Corporate Development (2012-2017). Moreover, he has assumed various responsibilities over the course of more than ten years in the area of Investment Banking and Capital Markets with institutions such as Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC and Banco Popular. Ignacio began his professional career as an associate lawyer at Linklaters.
Ignacio frequently collaborates as an associate professor at the Business Institute and at ICADE, Comillas Pontifical University, Madrid.
During his time at Aena, he has contributed to the refinancing of the company's balance sheet through operations in the capital market, in the banking market and with the European Investment Bank. In particular, he led the successful issuance of Aena's inaugural bond. Finally, he has actively participated in the definition and revision of the current Aena Strategic Plan.

She was Assistant Director of Organisation and Human Resources from 2004 to 2005, and the Director of Organisation and People of Aena S.M.E., S.A. from September 2005.

She has been Aena S.M.E., S.A. Communications Manager since October 2018.
Antonio Jesús García Rojas

Antonio Jesús García Rojas

He began his professional career in 2001 in the financial department of Alcatel-Atlinks and later worked as a management controller in TDK Electronics.
In 2004 he joined KPMG, where he held different responsibilities as Audit Manager in Spain and the United States, managing individual and consolidated financial statement review projects under international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and other accounting standards. In 2014 he joined KPMG’s Advisory practice, where he was director of Internal Audit, Internal Control, Risks and Compliance.
In this last stage, he led projects related to the development of the Internal Audit function, internal control frameworks based on COSO and other aspects of corporate governance. In particular, he acquired extensive experience in the design, implementation and supervision of internal controls over financial reporting systems (ICOFR and SOX), compliance models and risk management systems for relevant listed entities.
He has been the internal audit director at Aena S.M.E., S.A. since September 2019.
